The only puppet goal scored by Wallace Costa Alves less than a minute into the match started delivering PSIS Semarang to beat PSS Sleman on week 31 of BRI Liga 1 2021/2022 at I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Gianyar, Bali, Wednesday (16/3)
In the first half, PSIS immediately kicked off with a goal scored by Wallace with his header perfecting a throw-in to Frendi Saputra and changing the score to 1-0.
After conceding the goal, PSS immediately responded with attacks on Laskar Mahesa Jenar’s defense, but still couldn’t penetrate PSIS goalkeeper Jandia Eka Putra.
In the 19th minute, the Java Super Eagle squad had another chance through Riki Dwi, but goalkeeper Jandia was still able to secure it quite easily.
Again, PSS got a chance in the 24th minute through Komarudin, but the referee disallowed it because he considered it to be in an “offside” position.
PSIS also got a chance through Resky Fandi, but their efforts still failed to produce an additional goal against Laskar Sembada, another nickname for PSS.
The first half match finally closed with the score 1-0 after no additional goals were created by both teams.
In the second half, PSS instead attacked the PSIS defense first with a number of opportunities, such as in the 47th minute through Wander Luiz, but Luiz’s efforts still failed to break into the opponent’s goal.
In the 64th minute, PSS got a golden opportunity to break into PSIS’s goal through Riki Dwi, but goalkeeper Jandia could still thwart it.
However, PSS had to swallow the bitter pill after its player, Syaiful Ramadhan received a second yellow card after dropping Alfeandra Dewangga in the 73rd minute and was immediately sent off.
Even though they had to play with 10 players, PSS still looked determined to catch up with the score, but didn’t score any goals until the match closed with a 1-0 PSIS victory.
With this victory, PSIS got three full points and was ranked 7th in BRI Liga 1 2021/2022 with 42 points. While PSS is in 14th position with 33 points. (OL-8)
