Xavi is optimistic that a landslide victory over Real Madrid will be a turning point for Barcelona

XAVI Hernandez said Barcelona’s 4-0 victory over Real Madrid in La Liga match, Monday (21/3) early morning WIB, would be a turning point for El Barca’s achievements this season.

Barcelona beat Real Madrid through goals scored by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (two goals), Ronald Araujo and Ferran Torres.

The El Clasico match was called a test for Barcelona under Xavi’s control and they successfully passed with perfect scores and proved the Blaugrana are ready to talk a lot in La Liga next season.

“This result will change the dynamics at this time and in the future. We had many chances and performed better and superior to Madrid. We should have scored more goals,” said Xavi.

When asked if the win meant Barcelona were back, Xavi replied: “It could be. For sure, we are on the right track.”

Although the result at the Santiago Bernabeu did not affect the position of the two teams in the La Liga standings, the crushing defeat to Barcelona could be bad for Madrid.

That loss will surely go down in El Clasico history just as it did when Barcelona won 6-2 over Real Madrid in 2009 and 5-0, two years later.

The defeat also threatened Carlo Ancelotti’s future at the Santiago Bernabeu with Real Madrid losing out tactically and technically to Barcelona, who were quicker, smarter and sharper.

“We performed very poorly. I apologize for this defeat,” said Ancelotti. (AFP/OL-1)
